Videos from the service

Madeleine’s Blog

January 3, 2014
So do not fear, for I am with you
Do not be dismayed, for I am your God
I will strengthen you and help you
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand
Isaiah 41:10

Thank you so much for joining with us to remember Madeleine, and to offer your support. We went away from the memorial service encouraged, and so grateful for all of you and your expressions of love and care.

We have heard from several people who were unable to be there, and also from many who would like to see some part of the service again. The following videos are from the service, in order, along with a description. You may click on any of the pictures to play the associated video.

Welcome & Eulogy
Right from the beginning of the service, we heard that this time was to be a celebration of Madeleine's life, and the effect of her life on all of us. Pastor Adam Peacocke shared the story of her life, as well as perspective on these past few years.

Graduation speech
We heard Madeleine's 2012 Montgomery High School graduation speech, where she spoke about overcoming challenges saying, "We don't know fully what the road ahead will bring us. And we won't really know what we have inside, until we hit challenges or roadblocks in our lives..."

Memory Cards
Cards with memories of Madeleine (and encouragement for her family) were brought up to the front and placed in one of Madeleine's favorite purses. The moving response from those gathered built as the songs "Blessings" (Laura Story) and "For a Dancer" (Jackson Browne) were played.
