So do not fear, for I am with you
Do not be dismayed, for I am your God
I will strengthen you and help you
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand

Madeleine being brave at UCSF with her "You Can Do It" cup!
Thankfully, even in the midst of this battle with cancer, there are some blessed seasons where the threat of cancer (and the hassles of treatment) seem just a little further from your conscious mind. These past weeks have been those kinds of times.

Madeleine has been really doing well with this treatment and is having very few side effects. She was able to enjoy another trip down to San Diego and continues to appreciate life - even the simple things have more value because of the challenges she continues to face.

Patiently waiting at UCSF for an exam
Yesterday, Madeleine went down to UCSF for her third infusion of anti-PD1.  It was a long wait at the clinic this time - such a long time in the waiting room that her dad sent her a text joking that UCSF must stand for "U Can Sit Forever." :)

Finally, she was able to get her infusion done just before closing time. To avoid the traffic, she and her mom decided to stop and do a little post-infusion "shop therapy" in Corte Madera on the way home. So happy that she feels good enough to enjoy that!

In three weeks, Madeleine will have her next infusion of the drug. Then, in the middle of May she will have scans that let us know what effect the anti-PD1 is having on the cancer.

Thank you all again for your prayers! Madeleine has been feeling really good, and has been able to be active and enjoy life. We are definitely grateful!

Hi Madeleine,

We haven't commented for a while, but you've been in our thoughts! Great to hear and see that you and your family had such a great time in Hawaii! You looked dazzling in that white dress! And it looks like you really were a natural on that surf board!
Good luck with your scan next week; we hope it brings good news about your current treatments! You continue to be a great example of perseverance and faith. May the combined efforts of you, your family, the professional care & treatments, and the faith of all those who are thinking and praying for you bring the cure you are seeking!! Your smile is beautiful and contagious! Our continued best wishes and thoughts.

First time I've searched for your blog, Madeleine. The slide show is wonderful. Zan has done a beautiful job with your blog site. I am impressed with the swim shot and the tight structure of your hand out of the water, like ballet. Your life has touched so many others for great good. We continue to pray that the Lord will wrap you in His mercy and glory, that His goodness will seep into all your pores, that all the schemes of the enemy will be defeated in your body, and that you will continue to rejoice in Him.
