Friends :)

Madeleine’s Blog

December 11, 2013
So do not fear, for I am with you
Do not be dismayed, for I am your God
I will strengthen you and help you
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand
Isaiah 41:10

Yesterday was a tough day. Actually, each day is tough right now, but there are also some bright spots.

Friends and family (and even some of Madeleine's former teachers) have been stopping by to visit and express their love to Madeleine and her family. There are tears of love, as well as laughter over shared stories from the past, and lots of hugs all around.

Madeleine with her good friend, Ted
We are all tired, but we're also grateful today for friends, and for being surrounded by love and care.

Madeleine,
I remember when you and Max were little, running in and out of your mom's classroom (when your brother was shorter than you). Then at POCS, watching you grow into such a beautiful girl. And later seeing you volunteer in the Kindergarten class at Olivet and listening to your mom proudly talking about you and all of your accomplishments, academically, through sports and also spiritually.
We were at a loss for words when we heard the news. While we don't understand how or why, like the words on your blog says, "God will strengthen us". We are so proud of you! You are such an inspiration. We love you and continue to pray for you and your family during this difficult time. Keep the faith, now and always.
Love,
Cody, Monique & Desiree Walker

Madeleine, even though you were always at one of the other schools and I didn't get the opportunity to teach you, I was able to hear of your achievements and great successes either from your mom or other colleagues. I could also see through your blog what a wonderful young woman you are. You have shown grace, determination and a very special spirit throughout the last two years. You are amazing and very inspirational. I think of you, your mom, dad and Max every day. Hugs and love.

Madeleine, you are such a beautiful young woman inside and out. Your story is truly one of bravery, love, and the importance of appreciating every flower, every song, and every person who our lives intersect with. Would you be interested in sharing your story, so that everyone in the community can honor you and your family and send love and prayers your way? If you or your family would like to tell your story, the Press Democrat would be honored to share it. If so, leave a message on here with the best way to get in touch. Take care.
