Here is a picture from the second day of Interferon. Madeleine has been doing really well - her main symptoms are having the shakes, or shivers, after the treatment and in the night before she falls asleep. Her energy level so far has been very good. We'll keep you posted if that changes, but so far so good!
While there is a sense of privacy, there is also a connection between the people there - they are all battling cancer in one way or another. But the atmosphere isn't dreary like you might suppose. There is encouragement and laughter, as well as support when there are tears. Because of a generous donation, there are lots of different snacks and juices for the patients to enjoy, which helps make the time go by a little easier. It's also nice that Madeleine doesn't have to be alone during the treatment - they give us a nice corner with a little extra space so that we can be there with her.

Hi Maddie, we don't know each other, but a long time ago, your Grandpa and Grandma Bean, and all your Bean aunts and uncles and mom, were a very important part of my life. I am sorry to hear or the cancer you've been fighting. while it's a journey you wouldn't choose, it sounds like you know that God is in control of all. You will be in my thoughts and prayers as you continue to recover. Keep fighting and don't ever look back, you're not headed there!!! Many blessings and prayers~~ kelly shepherd-bauer
